Lisbon is Portugal’s hilly, coastal capital city. From imposing São Jorge Castle, the view encompasses the old city’s pastel-colored buildings, Tagus Estuary and Ponte 25 de Abril suspension bridge. Nearby, the National Azulejo Museum displays 5 centuries of decorative ceramic tiles. Just outside Lisbon is a string of Atlantic beaches, from Cascais to Estoril.

The German Europol Commissioner Leander Lost is now an integral part of Fuseta's Policia Judicária. When his colleague Teresa disappears without a trace, he urges the new boss with all his might to look for her. The evidence points to a kidnapping. The highly intelligent Asperger's autistic person's knowledge of statistics doesn't bode well: there's little time left to find her alive. Video footage from a parking garage leads to a suspect who rented a car under a false name. Whatever the case, Theresa's kidnapping is just the beginning. Meanwhile, Lost's colleague Duarte looks after the Angolan journalist Flores Yola, who enjoys personal protection during her visit to Portugal. No one at the Fuseta Police Department knows why their safety is at risk.
