Charleroi is a Belgian city in the Walloon province of Hainaut. On the central Place Charles II, the art deco City Hall has a belfry with a carillon chiming fragments of Belgian folk songs. Nearby, the Museum of Fine Arts focuses on 19th- and 20th-century Belgian painters and has a sizable René Magritte collection.
