Plot summary
A wealthy Russian merchant who has long coveted a particular tract of forest land decides to purchase it immediately and trump his competitors when it suddenly comes up for sale. He issues orders for his peasant servant to harness the horse and prepare the sleigh and, despite the threatening storm, they venture out together to conclude the transaction. A take on Leo Tolstoy's famous short story.
