Plot summary
This is an editing of silent archival footage of the construction of a fleet of Maori waka (canoes) during 1937-1940 to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Waitangi, with sound effects added. Commissioned by the New Zealand Film Archive, it is an anthropological record of a ceremonial activity of an indigenous New Zealand people.
