Plot summary

The news of her father's death, who has just been buried in Namibia, turns Hanna Edlinger's life upside down. Until now, she lived under the belief that her father died when she was three years old. On the traces of her past, Hanna travels to the Namibian founding town of Lüderitz with her husband Andreas, an up-and-coming Munich lawyer. In the office of the lawyer Lawrence Javibi, who regulates the inheritance, she immediately experiences the next surprise: Hanna has a half-sister that she knew nothing about. But Sumah treats her cautiously and suspiciously. She fears that Hanna wants to dispute their common inheritance. The two half-sisters were given equal shares of a piece of land called Kolmanskop, which includes ruins and a disused diamond mine. The investor Ron Lehndorf is planning a luxurious holiday resort here and is offering the half-sisters a whopping 200,000 euros. But Hanna hesitates with the sale. She recognized her birthplace on the property and wants to know more about her past. Why hasn't her father ever contacted her? When it turns out that her husband Andreas played an ambivalent role in this matter, the marital crisis that had been brewing for a long time came to a head. Hanna makes the acquaintance of the native Moses from the Nama tribe. Kolmanskop Hill is a sacred place of worship for its people. Now she is beginning to understand her father's life's work: he poured all his money into the devastated land to preserve it for the Nama, for whom it is of inestimable value. In this exciting family and adventure drama, Christine Neubauer plays a woman on the trail of her African homeland. Bernhard Schir, Dennenesch Zoudé and Michael Roll can be seen at her side. Erhard Riedlsperger filmed the moving story penned by the author duo Susanne Beck and Thomas Eifler, who made a name for themselves with the book about "Margarete Steiff". Scenes are the impressive Namibian founding town of Lüderitz and the ghost town of Kolmanskop, which dates back to the German colonial era.
