Muğla is a city in southwestern Turkey. The city is the center of the district of Menteşe and Muğla Province, which stretches along Turkey's Aegean coast. Muğla's center is situated inland at an altitude of 660 m and lies at a distance of about 30 km from the nearest seacoast in the Gulf of Gökova to its south-west.
Dalyan is a town on the Dalyan River, just inland from Turkey's southwest coast. Across the river from town is the ancient ruined city of Kaunos, with Lycian rock tombs and the remains of a theater. Riverboats connect Dalyan with İztuzu Beach to the south, home to protected loggerhead turtle nesting grounds. To the northwest on the shore of Lake Köyceğiz is the village of Sultaniye, known for its thermal mud baths.
Ortaca is a municipality and district of Muğla Province, Turkey. Its area is 285 km², and its population is 54,478. Formerly a township part of Köyceğiz district, it was made into a separate district in 1987. Ortaca's economy is based on agriculture. It lies midway between Dalaman and Köyceğiz.
