My Mama Said Yo Mama's a Dyke (2010)
MY MAMA SAID YO MAMA'S A DYKE is an urban "mockumentary" tale about a group of teens who become fed up with their lesbian moms so they decide to enlist them into this uncanny camp that specializes in "de-lesbianism". It was written, produced and directed by CoquieHughes. This project originally started off as a real-life documentary in which the Director interviewed various African American lesbian and bisexual moms along with their children. However it was so difficult to acquire funding to complete the documentary, CoquieHughes decided to use narrative and documentary style filmmaking techniques while taking real to life scenarios from the original format and create this fictious tale of African American youth from urban communities struggling with the fact their mon is a lesbian.
