Comédie québécoise réalisée au Japon par Alain Chicoine, (metteur en scène de nombreuses émissions, série et galas télé). Le film s'articule autour de séances de micro-trottoir plus ou moins improvisé, durant lesquels Réal Béland et son comparse Stéphane Lefebvre - qui se font passer pour des journalistes - et testent l'humour des quidams japonais qui veulent bien se laisser prendre au jeu. Également traité comme un faux documentaire, 'Nos voisins Dhantsu' possède quelques explications narrées qui rendent le propos plus sérieux - à peine.
