Plot summary
NOW! AGAIN! is a remake of Cuban filmmaker Santiago Alvarez's civil rights found footage masterpiece NOW! (1965). A ferocious split-screen interrogation of race, violence and power in America, the film juxtaposes Alvarez's 1965 work with contemporary images of the ongoing struggle on the streets of Ferguson, Missouri, sparked by the killing of unarmed 18-year-old Michael Brown by Ferguson police officer Darren Wilson. As past and present collide, viewers are forced to reckon with both troubling historical echoes, and new militarized forms of state violence unleashed upon American citizens.
