Pink Feathers (2018)
Growing up in a small English village, Richard Rhodes was undermined and bullied, spending his childhood making music in his bedroom and creating an imaginary character called "Ricky", believing he would amount to nothing. But watching Madonna perform one night changed everything, and Richard set off for the hedonistic lifestyle of New York's East Village to join the world of drag performance. Pink Feathers is a documentary that gives a unique insight into the world of drag, and celebrates Richard's 21 years as drag artiste alter egos "Cookie MonStar" and "Sheila Simmonds", from the streets of New York in the 90's to present-day London, on a journey of self-discovery. Through rare footage and interviews, we discover the person behind the make-up who had to completely break down to build themselves up again to find their true self."
