Plot summary
Once upon a time, the war separated Lieutenant Klimov from Marusya, a girl from the village, for a long time. Klimov fought back, got married, became a film director. After many years, he comes to see Marusya. They understand that their love is still alive, but happiness can now take place only at the cost of the misfortune of loved ones.
