Plot summary

Rocket sleds scream across the New Mexico desert. Air Force pilots soar to the edge of space, and one even parachutes back, breaking the sound barrier as he does so. American astronauts prepare for their first steps into space, neck and neck with their competition in the U.S.S.R. Rocket Science is a 13 part series that details mankind's first earliest adventures in space, as told by the men and women who made it happen.
