Mazatlán is a Mexican resort town along the Pacific shoreline in the state of Sinaloa. Sandy beaches line its 21km-long malecón (boardwalk), and it's renowned for big-game fishing. In its Centro Histórico, or Old Mazatlán, 19th-century landmarks include the performance hall Teatro Ángela Peralta and the towering Immaculate Conception basilica. The modern district of Zona Dorada is known for nightlife and hotels.

Taxco is a town in the state of Guerrero, southwest of Mexico City, famed for its silver jewelry production and Spanish colonial architecture. Plaza Borda, the main square, is home to the landmark 18th-century Santa Prisca church, with stone towers and a rose-colored facade in elaborate churrigueresque style. Nearby, the Casa Borda cultural center displays works by local artists, and hosts music and theater events.

Toluca is the capital of Mexico’s central State of Mexico. It sits at a high altitude and is known for its colonial architecture. The imposing Catedral de San José and the neoclassical Palacio Municipal overlook the main square, Plaza de los Mártires. Housed in a former marketplace, the Cosmovitral Botanical Garden has plants from around the world and dozens of stained-glass murals.
