Newquay is a town on the north coast of Cornwall, in southwest England. It’s known for sandy Fistral and Watergate Bay beaches, where waves from the Atlantic Ocean create strong surf. On the seafront, the Blue Reef Aquarium features an underwater tunnel going through a coral-reef tank with pufferfish, sharks and rays. Further inland, surrounded by tropical gardens, Newquay Zoo is home to lions, wildebeest and sloths.

Plot summary

Lawyer Philip Burlington bought the privatized Cornwall Zoo. Local vet and conservationist Dr. Simon Shepard is relieved he can finally turn over its animals to a successor, until he finds out 'Alex' Reading stands for Alexandra, yet agrees to work her in and grows closer, as does devoted animal keeper Geoffrey. All three wonder who repeatedly steals animals. Philip hired Alex, his ex, without telling he's the owner. Marc Coberg and his father work to revealing their secret bond with Alex's mother, a bitter estate owner. Simon's loser brother Brian plays a wicked part.
