Police Inspector Rajan lives with his wife, Lekha, a son, Dinkoo, and younger unmarried brother, Mohan. Rajan is a honest and diligent police officer and is much respected by his co-workers and superiors. Then one day Rajan receives a box full of money from a gangster, and decides to keep it. At the very moment Mohan sees it, and tries to talk to Rajan to surrender it to the police, but Rajan decides to keep it to better his life. The police find out, Rajan is arrested, dismissed from the police, and jailed. Rajan escapes from jail and joins the very gangsters against whom he used to use all diligence to apprehend and arrest. Mohan is determined to see that his brother gets another chance to be a honest man again, but will Rajan let Mohan succeed, or will Mohan himself be entrapped in a life of crime?
