A coming of age story that deals with guilt and forgiveness. In the small village Bækmarksbro, ten-year-old Rasmus has a tragedy on his conscience. Accidentally he shot his sister as a 5-year-old. It happened while their mother had sex with the local police officer Laust from who Rasmus stole the gun. A terrible tragedy which has displaced the entire village. In friendship with the new girl in class, he starts his journey that takes him to a showdown with both his mother and Laust in hopes of a recognition and acceptance of others and not least its own sake.
