Los Angeles is a sprawling Southern California city and the center of the nation’s film and television industry. Near its iconic Hollywood sign, studios such as Paramount Pictures, Universal and Warner Brothers offer behind-the-scenes tours. On Hollywood Boulevard, TCL Chinese Theatre displays celebrities’ hand- and footprints, the Walk of Fame honors thousands of luminaries and vendors sell maps to stars’ homes.

Laguna is a province just southeast of Manila and Laguna de Bay, in the Philippines. In Calamba, the Jose Rizal Shrine is a reconstruction of the national hero's childhood home. To the south is Mount Makiling, a dormant volcano. The town of Pila has well-preserved Spanish colonial architecture. The crypt of Nagcarlan Underground Cemetery holds 19th-century graves. Boats travel over the rapids of Pagsanjan Falls.

Baguio, on the Philippines’ Luzon island, is a mountain town of universities and resorts. Called the “City of Pines,” it’s particularly popular in summer due to unusually cooler weather. At its center is Burnham Park, with gardens and a lake. Nearby, Baguio Cathedral, completed in 1936, has a rose-hued exterior. The main thoroughfare is Session Road, lined with shops, restaurants and entertainment options.

Eagle Rock is an eclectic neighborhood northeast of Downtown, with working class roots and a hip, laid-back vibe. Vintage shops, coffeehouses, Southern-inspired diners and old-school Italian joints line commercial strips that surround quaint residential blocks. A retro-cool bowling alley and Occidental College, a small liberal arts school, liven up the area, along with several craft beer–focused watering holes.
