Plot summary

The famous American art collector Aaron Silberman dies suddenly in Florence under mysterious circumstances. His widow, universal heir to his fortune, has an unpleasant surprise: a few days before his death, her husband had made in great secret a transfer of twenty million dollars for the purchase of a building in the heart of the Tuscan city. David Bailey, a young American lawyer, accepts the assignment to investigate the case.
