The Boarding House Ham (1916)
Maggie De Cray and her daughter, Maybelle, run a theatrical boarding house. Horatio Payne is a star boarder. Olga Petrino, a vaudeville queen, arrives with her pet leopards. Horatio Payne makes eyes at Maybelle and incurs the enmity of Thomas Blake, a property man, who is fair Maybelle's intended. He tells Maybelle and Olga Petrino that Horatio is nothing more or less than a street faker. Maybelle's mother wishes her to marry Horatio. Olga Petrino comes to the girl's aid and arranges that a monster leopard shall wander at will through the boarding house. The beast, in search of food, visits the strong man, the lightning sketch artist and finally Horatio, who, leaving Mrs. De Gray to face the animal, hurriedly leaves the boarding house and also leaves Thomas Blake unhampered in his courting of Maybelle.
