Plot summary

Jaded by a world which has deceived him, an older gentleman withdraws from society into a somber and lonely existence. When a crisis develops in the city, it soon becomes clear that he has led a more than unusual life. He is a man with secrets, bitterness, lies, and regret - and he's being watched.
