Kristiansand is a city in southern Norway. Its old town, Posebyen, features traditional wooden houses. Tananger is a large village and urban area in Sola municipality in Rogaland county, Norway. The urban area is located on the west side of the Stavanger Peninsula between the North Sea and the Hafrsfjorden. It lies about 10 kilometres southwest of the city centre of Stavanger.

Little Toya is orphaned in a European country, and comes to Norway as a refugee. Being adopted, she soon is wrongly accused of stealing money, and is forced to run away from her new home. Then she meets Trygve, a boy her own age.
