Plot summary

UFC Japan: Ultimate Japan (also known as UFC Ultimate Japan or UFC 15.5) was an MMA event held by the UFC on December 21, 1997 in Yokohama, Japan, live on pay per view in the USA, on cable TV in Japan and later released on home video. The main card action included the first ever UFC Middleweight Championship bout, Frank Shamrock v Kevin Jackson, a Heavyweight Championship bout, Randy Couture v Maurice Smith, a four-man heavyweight tournament and a Superfight. On the undercard a four-man lightweight tournament with Rafael Carino, Francesco Maturi, Conor Quinn and Saeed Hosseini produced the inaugural lightweight champion for under 185 pounds.
