Vechno zhivye (1976)
The action begins in Moscow on July 3, 1941.Boris Borozdin, despite the reservation, goes to the front as a volunteer: "If I'm honest, I have to," he leaves on the eve of the birthday of his fiancee Veronika, whom he calls Squirrel. Boris goes missing at the front - Veronika, having lost her parents and shelter, marries Boris's cousin Mark out of desperation, but this marriage does not become a consolation for her.
