Nimal and Sirima with their father, live in a village where the passenger transport is only a lorry coverted into a bus. Nimal wants to join police force. He goes to house of the police inspector of the area and works as a house servant. When the rebellion activities arise, he is recruited as a homeguard (A rank junior to constable in SL police). His sister sirima is a village beauty, is in love with Gamini. Gunapala who is in her father's age, a fisherman and their neighbour, tries to attract Sirima with the help of bus driver, who is well in petition writing. They inform to forces that Gamini is a rebel. Gamini is disappeared as a result. During a picnic, Gunapala rapes Sirima. Later he chases his wife away and bring Sirima to his house. Gunapala's wife goes to the police station and tells what happened. Nimal tries to meet police inspector to get leave but inspector is busy with the anti rebellion security activities. Nimal comes out without approved leave with his official gun hidden in a bag. When he reached the village, he kills the bus driver. When he gose home he realizes what happened and kills Gunapala. By the time an armed police team lead by inspector comes searching for Nimal. Inspector asks him to drop the gun and to surrender. With the rage in his mind Nimal shouts lifting the gun up and seargent shoots him.
