The «escaping» homeless, formerly famous sportsman, is forced to stop for a while in provincial snow-covered Zarechensk. Victor gets a job in an orphanage, and soon finds an all-understanding friend and beloved woman in the person of a young teacher. But fate is not going well and not bad, but just so that the hero knows for sure that he cannot run away from himself. Therefore, it is in Zarechensk that the train with the capital's film group returning to Moscow is forced to stop for several days.
